Please understand that these schedules provide a structure and framework for instruction, however there is always an element of flexibility to reflect responsive teaching based on student needs in relation to achieving the identified learning outcomes.

Partner marks how many words are read correctly in 1 minute.

Teacher reads the whole passage aloud.
TUESDAY

Students read entire passage.

Partner peer assesses based on the fluency rubric and gives feedback.

Set a weekly fluency goal based on the rubric scores.

Monday - Read Aloud/Teacher Modeling
Tuesday - Shared Reading/Teacher Modeling with student interaction with the text
Wednesday & Thursday - Independent Reading focus based on the learning goals (during this time I am pulling guided groups)
Friday - Weekly “Checkpoint Assessment” centered on learning goals (During this time I monitor and pull a guided group if I see students struggling with the checkpoint)

(During this time I conferencing with individual students and pull a guided group based on observation or data)
*I try to keep the conferences and any guided group focus to a minimum of 10-15 minutes so all students have a 30 minute block of independent reading every day.
